Mahindra opens 2 new facilities in Tamil Nadu for testing SUV safety and cell technology research
The new facilities are located 55km away from Mahindra Research Valley (MRV).
India's largest SUV manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra, has inaugurated two new facilities in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, to test the safety of SUV products at various load cases and perform research on cell technologies, with an investment of over Rs 300 crore.

The facilities include Passive Safety Lab (PSL) and Advanced Cell Research Laboratory & Battery Proto Build Shop.

The PSL is claimed to be one of the biggest passive safety testing facilities owned by an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) across the world, covering an area of over 25,000 square metres. It can even perform tests at the standards of the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP), the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) and the European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP).
