In this case, the central government is planning to provide rice at a subsidized price.
In this regard, Union Food Department Sanjiv Chopra said that in order to meet the domestic demand, the Central Government has imposed various restrictions on rice. However, the price of rice has increased by 15%.In this situation, the central government is planning to provide rice at a subsidized price of Rs 29 in the retail market through the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED), National Cooperative Consumers Federation (NCCF) and central government sales centers to control the price of rice.Accordingly, Rs.5 lakh tonnes of rice has been allocated for the retail market in the first phase and it has been informed that it will be available in 5 kg and 10 kg bags.
Apart from that, it is said that the government is planning to sell Bharat rice online.The central government, which is taking serious measures to prevent hoarding of rice, has also directed retailers and wholesalers to report rice stock details to the central food ministry every Friday.
