Foreign tourists celebrate Pongal festival in Thoothukudi

Tourists from various foreign countries celebrated Pongal in traditional Tamil style at a private farm near Sawyerpuram in Thoothukudi. The event offered a unique cultural experience to the participants, who were fascinated by Tamil traditions.

The celebration was part of the 17th annual “Auto rickshaw” challenge organised by a private travel company based in Chennai. The 2024 edition began on December 28 in Chennai, featuring 21 participants from England, Australia and Switzerland.
