Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) are also multipotent stem cells. They were first found in bone marrow, but with time, many other sources of MSCs- umbilical cord, adipose tissue, and dental pulp have surfaced. Their applications in several degenerative, autoimmune, and tissue injury disorders have made them popular. Numerous clinical trials have used MSC treatment and showed positive outcomes without causing any adverse reactions. Recent studies have revealed their anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, angiogenic, and immune modulatory properties that have therapeutic benefits. The research has indicated that MSCs primarily exert their effects by paracrine mechanisms; that is, they induce the tissue’s repair processes to heal.
