Having said all that, we humans are not as good people as we think we are. But as the experiments by Dr. Stanley Milgram prove, we humans are a nasty bunch. We are capable of extreme inhumane acts all the while patting ourselves on the back as “good, honest people.” In one experiment Dr. Milgram had a student tied to a chair in a room, with what looked like electric wires attached all over his body. Then he invited other students, standing behind a glass partition, to press a button that would shock the poor tied-up student! As they pressed the button, the young man would scream in pain.
